Instructions

0.5-0.75 Inch Cut

Part 1 - Preparation (30 - mins before)
If Cooking by 12:00, get ready at 11:00

  1. Thaw and let the meat warm up (30-60 mins)
  2. Prep materials

Part 2 - Seasoning
2. Dry it (pat with paper towel)
3. Oil the steak (not the grill, prevents sticking)
4. Mix the seasoning ingredients together

  • Kosher salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Black Pepper (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Canola Oil (enough to coat)
  • Liquid Smoke (like 8 total drops)
  • Rub the seasoning on steak
  1. Let sit for 30 minutes

Part 3 - Cooking

  1. Preheat grill (leave plugged in for 5 mins, or until the light turns green)
  2. Place steak on and close (don't walk away)
  3. Cook for:
    • Medium-Rare (Pink center): Check after 2 minutes 30 seconds (check)
    • Medium (Light pink): Check after 3 minutes (might take 4 depending on thickness)
  4. Check Thermometer
    • 125°F (54°C) - 135°F (60°C): Pull it off now for Medium.

Part 4 - Finishing

  1. Immediately after taking it off the grill, put it on a plate
  2. Place slab of (salted?) butter on top
  3. Place aluminum foil loosely over the plate, wait 5(to 10) minutes
  4. Enjoy
